Electric Vehicle Platform
Grayback is a platform of integrated systems that we use across all of our EV conversions. It was designed, engineered, tested and built by Kindred and includes wiring harnesses (high voltage and low voltage), battery enclosures, controls, a power distribution unit, battery management software, heating/ventilation/air conditioning units (HVAC), instrumentation and associated diagnostic tools.

Electric Platform Design
Kindred aims for a minimum range of 200 miles – enough for 99% of daily car trips. This requires creative engineering from Kindred and our partners on battery pack configuration and mounting systems.

Weight distribution is a significant determinant of vehicle safety and drivability. Kindred pays close attention to battery placement, which allows us to produce modern classic cars with a lower center of gravity, better handling, and improved safety.

Electric Powertrain Design
Converting vintage cars to electric power requires entirely new computer-driven controls for heating, cooling, and instrumentation. Our Kindred EV control system provides the technology infrastructure needed in the vehicle to bring these systems to life.
