The Custom Bronco, and Customer, That Sparked a New Concept
In early 2025 we met a new customer, Kyle, who was really excited about buying his dream Bronco. This Bronco would be an ode to his pride for his Oregon State Beavers.
In a preliminary interview between him and Kindred CEO, Rob Howard, Kyle expressed that he loved the character of old Broncos with their raw, classic feel. He was excited to get in touch with us when he realized we were restoring vintage Broncos while keeping their original charm.
His request? A custom paint job and interior styling to represent his favorite sports team. We already offered custom colors, but the idea of crafting a vehicle with finishing touches to celebrate a beloved sports team had our gears turning. We asked ourselves, "Is this something that more people will want now and in the future?"
We soon discovered there was strong interest and we decided to develop a new program around this concept: Kindred Gameday™ Edition. Ideas can be sparked at any given time, from anyone. We're thankful to have had Kyle be that spark for us when we saw how thrilled he was to finally get the custom, vintage vehicle he had dreamed of. Go Beavers.
Onto the Next: Designed for Dallas, Built for Fans
In building this Kindred Gameday Bronco for our partner, Sewell Dallas, we set out to capture a university’s spirit without shouting. We started with research — archival uniforms, stadium photos, alumni memorabilia — then built a palette library. Dozens of spray-outs later, we landed on a paint-to-match formula. The paint scheme was bold at noon, composed at dusk, and finished with a balanced gloss.
For stripes, we mapped the body lines and refined widths by millimeters until the stance felt athletic, not aggressive. The Paint Team laser-checked transitions to ensure crisp edges.
Inside, black Nappa leather meets a precise red stitch. We tested thread shades and stitch tension until it felt unmistakably right.
