Kindred Motorworks Announces the Newest Model in its Lineup – the Kindred EV 911
An automotive icon, restored and engineered for a new era of driving
VALLEJO, Calif. March 27, 2026--Kindred Motorworks today announced that the G-Series Porsche 911 will be the next model in its lineup of reimagined classics, bringing its meticulous and no-compromise approach to one of the most revered driver’s cars ever created.
For decades, the 911 has defined what it means to be a sports car. Its unmistakable shape, rear-engine character, and deeply engaging driving experience have made it an enduring icon. The Kindred EV 911 builds on that legacy, preserving everything enthusiasts love while refining the elements that have kept many vintage examples off the road.
“Great cars aren’t just driven. They are felt,” said Rob Howard, CEO of Kindred Motorworks. “The 911 has always been one of those rare machines that connects drivers, roads, and emotions. Our job with the EV 911 is not to change that. It is to transport the G-Series into the 21st century, while respecting its inimitable originality. More confidence, more performance, and more reasons to drive it every day.”
In keeping with Kindred’s forward-looking approach, the Kindred EV 911 is equipped with Kindred’s proprietary ‘Grayback’ fully electric powertrain. Engineered to preserve the balance and feel that define the 911, the electric platform delivers immediate torque, smooth acceleration, and quiet confidence without compromising the connection between driver and machine. Careful attention has been given to weight distribution, chassis dynamics, and driving feedback, ensuring that the experience remains unmistakably 911 while opening a new chapter for the car in a modern era.
Each Kindred EV 911 will begin with a carefully selected donor chassis that is fully restored and reengineered from the ground up. The result is a car that retains its analog soul while benefiting from modern advancements in performance, braking, suspension, and reliability.
The driving experience is central. Expect sharper response, more predictable handling, and power delivery that enhances rather than overwhelms the car’s character. This approach refines the 911 formula for drivers who want to experience it more often and with fewer compromises.
Inside, the cabin reflects the same philosophy. Classic proportions and tactile materials are paired with subtle refinements and modern conveniences. Every surface, switch, and stitch is designed to feel intentional and true to the era while meeting today’s expectations.
The EV 911 joins Kindred’s growing portfolio of vehicles that elevate iconic design through thoughtful engineering, including reimagined versions of the Ford Bronco in both V8 and EV options, and the fully electric Volkswagen Bus.
More comprehensive details, including performance specifications, build options, and availability, will be announced in the coming months.
“We believe the best cars in our shared automotive history should not be saved for special occasions, or to sit unused or unloved in a garage somewhere,” Howard added. “They should be driven. Early mornings, long roads, and everything in between. That is what the Kindred EV 911 is built for.”
Production of the Kindred EV 911 is slated to begin in Q1 2027. The vehicle is priced at $299,000. It can be ordered from Kindred in Vallejo, Calif., or Kindred’s authorized dealer network. For more information, visit www.kindredmotorworks.com.
